Created and directed by George Anthony, a increasingly popular teacher with an astonishing depth of experience and gift for teaching and inspiring, this retreat is perfect for brand new beginner’s to Yoga, those that want to expand their knowledge and practice of Yoga, and anyone who wants to enjoy a week of mindful-practice and fascinating presentations and discussions.

Begin Your Yoga Retreat covers all of the essential practices of Yoga and ways to apply and adapt them to anyone for personal development, global healing, and self love.

What you will learn:

  • Pranayama – understand the anatomy of breathing and practice the many types of breathing while developing your breath and increasing vitality
  • Yoga Asana – the poses and flowing movements of yoga applied and modified for you to transform your body and expand awareness. Practice and learn about alignment, symbolism, benefits, and the various styles of yoga in the world
  • Meditation – techniques & enthusiasm to tune in to your inner space
  • Mantra – learn popular and simple yet profound Mantras for cleansing the mind and activating intuition or right action
  • Yoga Philosophy – a not too serious introduction to support your practice taught in a non-dogmatic way covering classical and modern health and spirituality on the source and purpose of life. Topics include Yoga Sutras, Ashtanga Yoga, and Sacred Geometry
  • Diet Principles – includes alecture for healthy diet and tips on the best sources of nutrition and healthy food with recipe examples at Vikasa restaurant. You will not believe how delicious healthy eating is at the Vikasa restaurant!

    DAILY SCHEDULE

    07:30 am – 09:30 am Morning Session – Practice Focus (Last Day Closing Ceremony)
    Breathing practices, posture practice and later adding mantra and meditation.
    10:30 am – 11:30 pm Brunch: Fresh fruits, juices, eggs, toasts, porridge, muesli, salads and more.
    12:30 pm – 05:00 pm Free Time! Have fun and explore Koh Samui’s beauty and culture or relax at our lovely retreat with massage, friends, good food, & swimming!
    05:00 pm – 07:15 pm Evening Session – Lecture Focus (First Day Meet and Greet & Retreat Introduction)
    07:30 pm – 08:30 pm Dinner

    Please arrive no later than 5 pm for a welcome session on the first day. There will even be a light practice to get you right in step with island life on Koh Samui at Vikasa. Departure is 12 pm on the last day. You are welcome to arrive early or stay on.

    TEACHER PROFILE

    George is a unique yoga teacher who blends an amazing physical practice with directions for cultivating inner awareness. He believes Yoga practices should be adapted to each individual, each practice, and lead people to transform their lives and find joy and self worth. His classes are never the same twice. George started practicing Yoga at the age of 20 in 2006. Yoga revealed a love of life for him and his dreams and ambitions grew in stride. He moved to Thailand to become certified a Yoga instructor in 2008. Since that time teaching has become his passion and career. He’s worked with people from all walks of life and guided them to better knowing their own joy through Yoga at detox retreats, yoga studios, and special workshops or teacher trainings.
